There's no evidence for it other than the actual movie scenes; but apparently, Robert Pastorelli removed a front partial denture for his role as Timmons, which adds to the characters 'bumpkin' accent as well 'as a funny, lispy' enunciation, and indeed makes his character much more authentic.
