At one point, Dex says "Shazam!" The catchphrase of 1940s Fawcett Comics hero Captain Marvel, who was later appropriated by the DC Universe. Jude Law (Joe) appeared in Captain Marvel (2019), about a competing character (contrived by Marvel Comics) of the same name.
