The slobbering, devoted Saint Bernard dog who is Frank Morgan's constant sidekick in this film is played by Buck, The Wonder Dog, who made his screen debut in the 1935 Clark Gable version of Call of the Wild, made a series of movie appearances in the late 1930s then "retired" after making this film.
