Matthew Rhys in this film as a New York Times reporter helping to blow the whistle on government secrets. Similarly, he played a whistle-blower in the film The Post (2017), responsible for the Vietnam papers leaked to the press in the early 1970s. Ironically, in "The Post" , the New York Times was barred from being able to release the information to the public.
