This is the second musical that Rob Marshall has directed in which Chita Rivera performed on Broadway. The first was Chicago (2002), in which Rivera made an appearance. She originated the role of Velma Kelly in the Broadway premiere in 1975. In this movie, she doesn't make an appearance, but she did portray Lilli in the 2003 revival of Nine on Broadway.
