Rohit Roy was earlier apprehensive to play the character of Amit Sheller. He appreciated the role to Sanjay Gupta, but felt he wouldn't be comfortable playing the role hence he rejected it. In a saloon later that day, Roy had met his friend Sanjay Suri and told him about the role but rejected it because he felt it was too villainous. Suri used some abusive language and asked him "why did you become an actor" , Suri then had made Roy call Sanjay Gupta from the saloon and tell him he was on board with the role.
