A powerless Freddy using Jason to kill the teenagers so he can regain his strength is a somewhat similar plot device to Hellraiser (1987). In that film, Frank Cotton (Sean Chapman) uses Julia Cotton (Clare Higgins) to bring unsuspecting victims to the attic in his house to kill them, so Frank can harvest their blood to regenerate his skinless body.
