The movie has many casting ties from Zack's prior roles. Donald Faison/Anthony (the Aston Martin car salesman) was his best friend Turk in Scrubs. His acting buddy in the beginning (Jim Parsons) had a brief scene with him in Garden State. The Rabbi did about 3 episodes in Scrubs as a chronically deceitful drug addict. Jerry who played Sarah's crude cubicle partner also had 2-3 episodes on Scrubs as 'Private Dancer', an injured soldier who was confused on his next step in life had his hospital stay proved him not able to go back out to the armed forces. There was even an appearance by the actor who played the quite sexually active dermatologist in Scrubs.
