In Thomas Harris' book, Dolarhyde works for Gateway Film Laboratory. This was changed to Chromalux FIlm & Videotape to avoid confusion with Gateway Inc., at the time a well-known brand of personal computer, and perhaps to lend a touch of realism: There was a maker of film and video projection equipment called Chromalux, Inc.
