On January 21, 2017, it was announced that James Cameron was returning to the Terminator franchise and that he was planning to reboot the Terminator franchise again. Tim Miller accepted the offer to direct the next film, Terminator - Destino oscuro (2019), passing on the chance to make Deadpool 2 (2018).
