Leiter tells his wife Della that James was once married. He got married in Agente 007 - Al servizio segreto di Sua Maestà (1969). In reality Timothy Dalton was actually approached and considered for playing Bond for that movie. He declined because he felt a bit too young for the part. 18 years later he took the role making it the longest run from consideration to actually taking the role.
