One interesting aspect of the movie's filming locations in various American states in the USA, and a challenging one at that, to say the least, was that the chosen shooting locations were not only used to sometimes "play themselves", but more often than not were also used to "double" locations in other American states, and, in some cases, thousands of miles away. These included Nevada for Nebraska, Los Angeles for Wisconsin, Barstow for Arizona, Nevada for Colorado, and Nashville for Wisconsin.
