The film was remade in 2006 by the same name directed by Farhan Akthar and staring Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra the film's climax was planned in way to make its sequel during the release of its sequel in 2011 the makers of original had objected saying they had only giving the rights to make the original film and not its sequel but the sequel got released in theaters without and stay order.
