Reportedly, the real life legend of Hugh Glass sleeping inside of his horse (or a bear in some tellings) to stay warm was the inspiration for a similar scene in L'Impero colpisce ancora (1980), where Han Solo infamously cuts open a Tauntaun for Luke Skywalker to sleep in during a blizzard.
