When James questions Albert about Mikey, at one point he says "Who's his favorite rock star? Michael Jackson". Ironically, John Travolta had a cameo in the music video for Michael Jackson's Liberian Girl. And Jackson's brother Jermaine also performed the theme song to Perfect (1985), which Travolta starred in four years earlier.
