Richard Dreyfuss and Miguel Ferrer both appear in this film. Dreyfuss is descended from wrongfully disgraced French/Jewish military officer Alfred Dreyfus, who was played by José Ferrer in the film L'affare Dreyfus (1958), which he also directed. Dreyfuss and the elder Ferrer also share the role of Iago from Shakespeare's Othello. Rosemary Clooney appeared in Benvenuti a Radioland (1994), which was a prequel to Dreyfuss's breakout film, American Graffiti (1973).
