This is the only film where Robert Langdon has a love interest. In the first book, the only love interest he has had was Dr. Vittoria Vetta. In the next books, they broke up but he apparently still has contact with her. In the movie, Robert and Dr. Elizabeth Sinskey already knew each other due to a prior romantic relationship that fell apart; however, in the book Robert and Elizabeth had not met before.
