Director John McNaughton said that when making movies with sex and nude scenes like this one, the first thing he asks his actors is, "Have you read the script?" All nude and sex scenes are in his scripts. He said he doesn't pull a trick on actors like: "Oh, I know it's not in the script, but do you mind taking your clothes off?" What he's found often with the actors is they feel a lot of trepidation up front, but once they feel they're not being exploited or tricked in any way, they start to get into it. Once they do that, the clothes start flying off, and things they said they wouldn't do at first aren't a problem anymore. They push it further once they're in their comfort zone.
