(At around 25 minutes) The creature Mad-Eye Moody torments in his "dark arts" class (a spider in the book and the original script) is virtually identical to a real animal: the tailless whip scorpion (a.k.a. tailless whip spider). Tailless whip scorpions, of which around seventy species are known, fall in their own taxonomic order "Amblypygi" under Class "Arachnida", and are neither scorpions nor spiders. Though Moody says that this one is deadly, real Amblypygids are quite harmless (though almost as big).
