Dan Hedaya plays a character named Jackie Brown in this film. A year later, Quentin Tarantino's film Jackie Brown (1997), starring Pam Grier as the titular character, was brought to the screen. Neither this film nor the other shares any connection, except that both were released by subsidiaries of Disney- at least at the time. Touchstone Pictures- created by Disney itself in the 1980s- released this film, while Miramax- purchased by Disney only a few years prior and later sold in 2010- released Tarantino's film, as they had his others at that time.
