During the opening sequence, when the two soldiers are escaping the creature that escapes from the convoy collision, the scene echoes a similar one from American Werewolf In London. The two soldiers can hear the creature moving around them before one of them trips over and they both begin laughing, as the other soldier attempts to help him up, he's attacked by the creature. In An American Werewolf In London, the same situation plays out in a very similar way whilst David and Jack are lost on the Moors.
