One day, Martin Landau noticed that Sir Alfred Hitchcock was giving instructions to Cary Grant, James Mason and Eva Marie Saint. When he asked Hitchcock about this, Hitchcock basically said if he didn't talk to actors and actresses, they were doing fine. When he talked to them, it was because they did something wrong.
