In the original plot, Linus was battling cancer, and wouldn't live long enough to see the new Star Wars movie in its theatrical release, and therefore the friends want to get a copy of it. Harvey Weinstein opposed this version, and re-cut the original, removing all references to cancer. Fans were so enraged about this, that they threatened to boycott Superhero - Il più dotato fra i supereroi (2008), another Weinstein Company project. Linus' cancer was not removed from the final version of the film.
