(at around 1h 30 mins) According to Harold Ramis in one of the special features commentary, the last scene involving Ned Ryerson involved the line (as it was written) "Oh, let's not ruin it!" from Rita. However, since Andie MacDowell was speaking in her thick native South Carolina accent, the word "ruin" was distorted repeatedly, and Ramis felt viewers would be confused by what she was trying to say. It was at that point where the word "ruin" was changed to "spoil."
