Several Sheraton Hotel locations across the USA were used for filming the movie according to the picture's production notes. These included such interiors as the office of Jerome Cade (J.T. Walsh) and a cocktail bar where Pete St. John (Richard Gere) meets with Ellen Freeman (Julie Christie). The film's closing credits state: "The producers gratefully acknowledge the cooperation of the Sheraton Corporation and the following Sheraton hotels that served as locations: Sheraton Grand on Capitol Hill, Washington, D. C.; St. Regis Sheraton Hotel, New York, New York; Sheraton Centre Hotel and Towers, New York, New York; Sheraton Smithtown, Long Island, New York; Seattle Sheraton Hotel and Towers".
