Though Zack Snyder originally intended to make a PG-13 film, the MPAA gave it an R rating after viewing the first cut. The MPAA had an issue with Babydoll enjoying making out with the High Roller and allowing him to embrace her (even though the scene had no nudity and cut before sex even started). They made Zack cut the scene down so much, that it looked as if the High Roller was taking advantage of Babydoll, even forcing himself upon her. That wasn't Zack's intention, so he was decided to cut the pivotal scene entirely. This unfortunately makes the PG-13 cut confusing and incomplete. This also explains why the extended cut, released on Blu-ray, is rated "R" instead of being "unrated" like most "extended cuts", since it was actually submitted to and rated by the MPAA before the film even made it to theaters.
