Fashion designer Manish Malhotra who was good friend of Sridevi had recommended name of Janhvi Kapoor to Karan Johar who had meet Janhvi Kapoor at her residence.Later Janhvi Kapoor Karan Johar's office she did some readings with him and would act on poetry scenes which is how Dhadak happened.
