In the scene where Ed is frantically typing a script, and begging Bunny Breckinridge on the phone to get him some transsexuals, he spends more time separating jammed type-bars inside the machine than actually typing. This was a common problem with older, "pre-Selectric-style" typewriters. This is not due to the age of the typewriter, but bad typists hitting two keys at the same time.
