This film was followed by two direct-to-video sequels: Cenerentola II - Quando i sogni diventano realtà (2001) and Cenerentola 3 - Il gioco del destino (2007). The latter film, A Twist in Time, is often considered to be as one of the best Disney direct-to-video sequel films and as the true sequel to the original 1950 film.
