This film sparked some controversy in Bangladesh, where the film is set. Some Bangladeshi critics and viewers said that the film incorrectly portrays the capital Dhaka and the people's culture and antiquities. It is to be noted that though the story is set in Dhaka, the film was mostly filmed in other locations such as Thailand and Ahmedabad, India.
