The Pokéball which Tim uses in an attempt to catch the Cubone works the same way it does in the anime and to a lesser extent the game-- once the Pokemon is inside, it shakes and flashes yellow until either it fails, or the light turns green and the capture is confirmed. In the game, it just wiggles three times before catching it.
