The overhead shot in the phone booth where the blob explodes against Fran, was accomplished using a three-foot phone booth model, an articulated doll of Clark, and air mortars blasting her. Clark said they originally took full body and face life castings of her and created a life size dummy. They then tried shooting her Blob attack in the real phone booth. It never worked effectively though, which is why they decided to use miniatures.
