In X-Men (2000), Xavier says that Storm, Cyclops and Jean Grey were some of his earliest students. In this film, they are just now becoming his students, despite him having opened his school 20 years before. It has also been in continuous operation for the past 10 years. The characters are also more than 10 years old, and in fact appear to be in their mid-teens, so their ages would not have been affected by the time-travel used in X-Men - Giorni di un futuro passato (2014).
