The death of Aoyama's dog is much more graphic in the novel than it was in the film, where the audience simply see its corpse. Asami cuts off the dog's feet in front of Aoyama while it yelps in pain, and then Asami decapitates the dog using the same wire. This death was toned down for being too horrific.
