The original version run of The Muppet Show was actually taped in a set in Studio D of the co-production partner's ATV/ITC/(later BBC) Elstree Centre television studios, not to be confused with the EMI Elstree Studios, in Borehamwood/Elstree in the UK. This Muppet movie officially locates the Muppet theatre interior to a real world theatre location, and retro-fits their Muppet Studios period to a real location too.
