Sylvain Chomet constantly makes fun of American culture, like drawing them extremely fat or that they only eat hamburgers and live in polluted cities. However this film has the fewest mocks towards Americans than any of his previous works, in fact there's only one: the restaurant where Alice and the Illusionist eat fish and chips is called McDaunnald's.
