During filming of the dinner sequences, Jamal Mixon was encouraged by Eddie Murphy and director Tom Shadyac to ad-lib anything that Murphy himself might be able to ad-lib on. Two of Mixon's ad-libs made it into the finished movie; the first was him flexing his muscles (leading to Mama Klump's "Hercules" chant), and the second was him loudly and unexpectedly breaking wind (which caused Murphy to break character, forcing them to crop out Mama in editing in order to use the shot; the original version appears as the first of the out-takes over the end credits).
