Despite Rusty Nail being referred to as a psychotic killer in the film's description and synopsis, he is only shown to have killed two people: the night manager of the final motel and the person he puts in his truck as a decoy body to escape justice. The room 17 victim was still alive, though he had had his lower jaw ripped out, and it is unclear where the ice truck driver died when Rusty Nail crashed through his truck with his own lorry.
