Portions of Mani Kaul's film "Arrival" (1980) are glimpsed in the first section. A number of obscure horror films are excerpted, the most well-known being "Wohi Bhayanak Raat" (1988) by Vinod Talwar. These are shown as the Duggal Brother's productions within the film. The only "romantic" film referenced in the film is Man Tera Tan Mera" (1971) by B.R. Ishara. In fact, the leg-image used on the Miss Lovely international poster continues this pastiche technique as the leg itself comes from a press booklet for the 1976 film "Nehle Pe Dehla.
