Both 'Uncharted' (2022) and 'The Lost City' (2022) debuted early 2022 world premiering within about a month of each other. Both feature films are movies in the fantasy-adventure genre as per 'Jumanji' and 'Indiana Jones'. 'The Lost City' (2022) has been likened to 'Romancing the Stone' (1984) whilst 'Uncharted' (2022) has been likened to 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' (1981). 'Romancing the Stone' was 20th Century Fox's attempt to cash in on the success of 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' and followed it a few years after debuting in the same year as 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom' (1984). Similarly, the 'Romancing the Stone-like film 'The Lost City' has followed after the 'Indiana Jones'-like film 'Uncharted' in theatrical release time and was distributed afterwards (though the release comparison timing was not intentional for this reason).
