Dottie's and Bob's car is clearly a '20s-era Model-T, meaning it was at least 15 or 20 years old during the time the movie takes place. This is a case of the filmmakers doing their research, as most Americans drove very old cars at that time. No new cars were being produced during the war, and most people couldn't have afforded a new one during the Great Depression before that.
