Production taped the rehearsal the day before the live show day just in case something happened. Luckily, nothing happened and the show was completely live. The only taped scenes/parts of a scene used were of the ensemble and cast bowing in front of Rydell High at the end of the show. It then cuts back to the bowing at the end carnival scene with the main cast, which was live.
