In every movie in the Robert Langdon series, someone who initially acted as an ally of Langdon is revealed to be one of the masterminds behind the conspiracy, and has even been using Robert Langdon to further his or her own agenda. In Il codice da Vinci (2006), it was Sir Leigh Teabing, in Angeli e demoni (2009), it was Camerlengo Patrick McKenna, and in Inferno, it is Doctor Sienna Brooks.
