During the focus group scene when they are throwing out ideas and words, one of the members, played by Utkarsh Ambudkar, mentions the word "sunrise" seemingly at random. However, it wasn't random at all. UTK and director Lin Manuel-Miranda are both members of the musical improv group, Freestyle Love Supreme. UTK used to host a weekly podcast and during an episode where Miranda was a guest, he recounted a story of one particular improv show in which both he and Miranda participated in a game where they had to come up with a freestyle based on a specific word. Miranda insisted UTK go first which caused him to be frustrated initially but was ultimately thankful to Lin for doing so as it led to him delivering an inspired, memorable freestyle with a unique take on the word. That word was "sunrise".
