The announcer/reporter character named Desmond Dumas (voiced here by Jeff Bergman) is based on the narrator of the 1966 show (producer William Dozier in an uncredited role). Although the narrator was never given a name in the series, some promotional material including the soundtrack album (which also included dialogue from various episodes) identified him as 'Desmond Doomsday'.
