James Bond producer Albert R. Broccoli objected to the character name "Charlie Bind agent 006-1/2". Producer Peter Rogers refused to change the name, but dropped the agent's code number. Jeremy Arnold at the TCMDb states that "Bond producers Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman threatened legal action over a plan to name a character 'James Bind' [so] producer Rogers changed the name to 'Charlie Bind, Double-Oh Oh'." Moreover, "Carry On" fan-site The Whippit Inn states, "The original name for Charles Hawtrey's character was originally intended to be called James Bind - 001 and a half. Alas, following the threat of legal action by EON, producers of the James Bond franchise, he was renamed Charlie Bind".
