(at around 32 mins) The song that plays during The Comedian's funeral, the 1965 overdubbed version of Simon & Garfunkel's "The Sound of Silence," has often been associated with the John F. Kennedy assassination, although Paul Simon has stated in interviews that he began writing the song when he was twenty-one years old, at least a year before the assassination took place. In the opening credits sequence of the film, The Comedian is revealed to be the man who shot Kennedy.
