In the car, when Preston and Carl are discussing options to replace his departed leading lady (women who could fit into the size four costumes), Carl says, "Fay is a size four," and Preston replies that she is doing a picture with "Cooper" over at "RKO." Fay, Cooper, and RKO are all referencing to the original King Kong film. Fay (Wray) was the star, (Merian) Cooper was its director, and RKO (Radio Pictures Inc.) distributed it.
