Because Wayne was operating on only one lung from this point on, it eventually added a new characteristic to his acting which became a favorite bit that impressionists could add to their technique for him. His lowered lung-capacity caused him to often split up longer sentences into several smaller parts instead of speaking the line in one flowing breath. He would then be delivering lines like "Well, I guess we better.....pull back to the river and ....see what comes out of the woods". Even amateur Impressionists could use this feature to improve their impressions of him significantly.
