Diane gives Carol Anne a cigar box to bury her dead bird in, and Carol Anne says the bird does not like the smell. Later the audience see them mother uses the same kind of box to store her weed, meaning she gave her daughter her old stash box to use as a coffin. The audience is having red flags as soon as they see it's a cigar box since the Freelings clearly don't smoke cigars.
